Announcement & Naming Convention
We are so excited to announce the arrival of our gorgeous red merle pup – Leilani – born January 16th! We are wildy fortunate to have contacted Ellen at Thornapple Aussies about her new litter of all red pups – and 1 red merle bitch was still available!
Thanks to Donna for the hot tip and for keeping an eye out for our new girl!
So the coolest part about sharing our new family member is…PHOTOS!
Now these are really cute…so prepare yourself to see the future agility and disc superstar!!!

Leilani at 2 weeks old

We are into the naming part now – her registered name that is. We know that we want it to be related to Lilli’s registered name, Flying DragonLilli. Also, Leilani’s mom has a Hawaiian name, CH Thornapple Island Kiss “Kauai” and her dad’s name is fire related – CH Thornapple Red Hot Outlaw “Scorch”. Leilani is the flower necklace in Hawaiian, so that covers the mom and it’s a great call name – Lani!
Now we need to find a way for Fire, Hot or Red themed words, Leilani and Dragon to tie in somehow and sound awesome. We need your help so if you have any thoughts or ideas…PLEASE pass them along in the comments below!
We are so excited! Leilani flies in from CHILLY Michigan the week of March 16th! We’ll keep everyone posted with more pics and updates!

Haha! So funny!
There is another Leilani from Michigan -

and a boatload of video here: http://k9disc.blip.tv .
Leilani is also known as Rokalele, and her given name is Leilani Kai.
Leilani means ‘Heavenly Child’ in Hawaiian, Kai is ocean, or sea.
Her big Brother’s name is Kimo Kai, or ‘Jimmy Ocean’.
I’ll do some thinking about some fire words that would hook up well with Leilani – I lived in Hawaii for a few years, you know.
You’d think I’d remember a bit of that.
Good luck with the pup!
Aloha,
Ron

Aloha Ron!
I was hoping we’d connect with some Hawaiian roots for some naming ideas.
Your Leilani is fantastic – hopefully the name says something for the disc skills! I really enjoyed your videos. I’ll post about them on the blog.
I did some research on Hawaiian words but didn’t find anything cool sounding about fire. I’d love your ideas and suggestions.

Congratulations on the upcoming arrival of your new family addition (and our new grandchild), Leilani. Not exactly what we envisioned your little girl would look like, but adorable to say the least. I’d like to contribute a name to consider for her as Red Fire (Flame or) Fox Leilani.

Ahi means fire
‘Ena – red-hot Ena lele…
but here’s a real good one:
Hoku-lele – it means Shooting Star.
Good luck on the search.
peace,
ron
