Hi Kate.

For hard bite dogs, I suggest Hero brand discs over Jaws - any of the "Super" types. For a smaller dog, I'd definitely go with the Super Sonic. It's still the same approximate weight of the fastback (110g) so it floats nicely, it's smaller in size and still holds up to my cattle dog's extreme bite.

Here's a link to the blems:

We are new to disc, so have no background from which to pull. I have been experimenting with different discs and am having a hard time . ruckus is a border-jack and have a very hard bite...I have been using Jawz as that is all I have found to hold up. How is that compared to Super Hero? I have also used the Hero Exta with moderate success. I started out with the smaller discs as he is only 15" /19 lb. The larger discs work but her finds harder to catch and return. Any help is appreciated. Kate

I was so stoked to hang out with Tracy and Mark. I wanna be Tracy when I grow up.

We're still looking for a disc mentor/trainer that's somewhere in FL where we can get more frequent training. I wish Ron and Apryl would move to sunny FL!!!

Where's New Charlotte? ..... :)

Great post Jason!

I've learned so much in the past month with Moxie. I forget that we've only been playing together for 4 months. We've just started to figure each other out and be able to relax and play together and discover and try new stuff.

I'm really grateful to have Mox as my partner - that may sound cheesy but she's "my" first dog and the connection with her is so much fun and really rewarding.

Ok, now you've got me blushing a bit................it was so great to meet you both! I only wish I'd had more time to just hang out, took so many dogs I felt like I spent most of my time walking dogs. You both looked just great out there! Truly, one of the most rewarding things to me is to see dogs we've helped to save/foster/rescue out there performing and kicking butt. Moxie and Andrea are ready to be a force in the sport!

Congrats on your finishes in SC!

Great insights into the 'zenness' of flow!

To me, what really opens a team up to true flow, is when you achieve a level of skill and 'oneness' with your k9 partner that you no longer have to think about any of it............you just FEEL it. It is hard to explain. Much easier to feel. Once all the foundation work, the skill sets, the attention to a dogs tendencies, and the attitude all are in place, then the routine begins to become more of a work of art, than a series of disc dog tricks
